3 C sugar
3/4 C margarine
5 1/3 fl. oz. can evap. milk (-2/3C)
1 12oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 7 oz. jar Kraft Marshmallow Cream
1 C chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine sugar, margarine and milk in heavy 3 qt. saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil, stirring contstantly. Continue boiling for 5 minutes while stirring (set a timer).
Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips until melted. Add marshmallow cream, nuts and vanilla. Beat until well blended. Pour into greased 9x13 pan. Cool at room temp.
Cut into squares; makes 3 lbs.

Hands down, my mom's best candy recipe is for her "butter-thumbs," homemade butterfingers. It requires special tools and takes a lot of time and talent. It also takes at least 2 people. I have never seen my mom attempt these without my dad because it takes atleast 4 hands to keep the pouring and stirring and cutting going before it cools/hardens into a nasty mess. If you're brave and would like the starter recipe, let me know! :-)
